Miguel Costa
My name is Miguel, and I’m a news reporter based in Los Angeles. I began my career primarily as a music journalist, covering a wide range of genres from punk rock, metal, alternative, and soul to hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and reggaeton. Over the years, I have compiled bylines at outlets such as VladTV, Music Connection, EUPHORIA, MOOD, Ones to Watch, and more. During this time, I have had the pleasure of interviewing an eclectic mix of interesting souls like Ozuna, H.E.R., Javon “Wanna” Walton, Teddy Swims, Surfaces, Charlotte Lawrence, Audrey Nuna, Aidan Gallagher, and more. Along the way, I became a publicist, booking agent, and Spotify playlisting specialist for a number of CEOs, recording artists, and record labels.
About four years into my journalism career, I expanded my content beyond the music industry to an array of other topics I am equally passionate about, such as culture, sports, politics, film/television, and worldly news. Of all the stories I’ve written, a few of my favorites include articles about the female-led protests in Iran, India becoming the 4th country to land on the moon, and a feature about the historical connection between Armenian American celebrities and Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. Other personal favorites include articles about the chances of Patrick Mahomes eclipsing Tom Brady as the greatest quarterback in NFL history and my review of HBO’s hit series “The Last of Us.”
Conducting interviews and creating PR campaigns has allowed me to tell many compelling stories. I hope this journey leads to many more connections and friendships. Someday, I would also like to add “columnist” and “published author” to my name, as I have a 10-book fictional series I am very excited about sharing. Thank you for taking the time to read this part of my story. I look forward to hearing yours!
